Loved by our customers

Ordered the Mongra saffron for my parents and was really happy with the presentation. The aroma was noticeable as soon as we opened the box, and only a few strands were needed for our usual kahwa. Will definitely order again.

Bought the saffron honey as a small gift for a friend. The combination sounded interesting, and the packaging made it feel quite special. She loved it. I ended up keeping a jar for myself too.

This was my first order from SafarPosh, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Everything arrived well packed and the products looked exactly like the website photos. I appreciate that the product information is clearly mentioned.

Saffron growers in the karewa fields of Pampore, Kashmir

The origin

From the Fields of Kashmir

Every thread in this jar was picked by hand in the karewa fields of Pampore, between late October and early November, in the two hours after sunrise when the crocus flowers are still closed.

The stigmas are separated the same day, then dried slowly over three days in shaded, ventilated rooms — never machine-heated. Slow drying is what holds the crocin in the thread, and it is why these threads bleed a deep amber rather than a pale yellow.

We buy directly from four grower families in Pampore and Khrew. No aggregator, no mandi, no blending with Iranian stock.

A short guide

How to Identify Authentic Saffron

Trumpet-shaped threads

Trumpet-shaped threads

Authentic saffron stigmas naturally flare at one end, forming a delicate trumpet-like shape. A distinctive feature of whole, uncut saffron threads.

Slow Golden Bloom

Slow Golden Bloom

When steeped in warm milk, saffron gradually releases its natural pigments, turning the milk a soft golden-yellow. The colour develops slowly as the threads infuse.

All Red, No Yellow

All Red, No Yellow

Authentic saffron gradually releases a warm golden-yellow colour when steeped in water. The threads themselves remain distinctly red as their natural colour infuses the water.
